2009 Growing Greener Grant

PALMS receives a $250,000 grant from PA Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP)!

The Pennsylvania Lake Management Society (PALMS), with funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP), was able to offer assistance to landowners, non-profits, and municipalities to address lake-related issues of critically eroded shorelines, excess nutrient loading, and aquatic invasive species that degrade the quality of lakes in the Commonwealth. Through this program, we offered a limited number of grants on a competitive basis up to $24,000.00 each to correct identified lake problems.

The Bucks County Conservation District is using funds from the grant program to address an aquatic invasive species problem in one lake and establish 2 stabilized shoreline areas on Lake Galena.
