2022 Call for Proposals
Call for Mini-Grant Project Proposals
A SECOND round of mini-grants is now open!! Applications due by 5 pm on January 28, 2022. See links below for full details
The Pennsylvania Lake Management Society (PALMS), with funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, is pleased to offer assistance to county and state agencies, municipalities, non-profits, and landowners to address lake-related issues of critically eroded shorelines, excess nutrient loading, and/or aquatic invasive species that degrade the quality of lakes in the Commonwealth. Through this program, we are offering a limited number of mini-grants on a competitive basis of up to $24,000 to correct identified lake problems such as stabilize shorelines, establish riparian buffers, reduce nutrients, and control invasive species. To be considered for funding, the application must demonstrate that the project can be fully implemented and all paperwork submitted for reimbursement by October 1, 2023. Special consideration will be given to lakes located in a watershed with an approved TMDL and/or are listed on the Commonwealth’s 303(d) list of impaired waters. Projects that maximize funding toward implementation costs (i.e., not administrative costs) will receive high priority in award decisions.
Please submit one (1) hardcopy (postmarked by January 28th, 2022) to PALMS PO Box 171 Mertztown, PA 19539 and (1) electronic copy via email (by 5pm on January 28th, 2022) of the complete application to firstname.lastname@example.org.
