Celebrate Lake Appreciation Month with PALMS at Blue Marsh Lake

Join us for the Fifth Annual Love Your Lake Event. Celebrate our lakes with PALMS, the staff of Blue Marsh Lake, Aqua Om Paddle, Berks Nature, Penn State Master Watershed Stewards, Berks County Conservation District, Berks County Library, PA Fish and Boat Commission, US Coast Guard Auxiliary, and Mt. Pleasant Fire Co. as we celebrate our Lakes and enjoy a sunset community paddle!

Join us from 5-8pm for kayak and paddle board races! Or visit the educational tables along the shore to learn how to keep yourself and our lakes safe and then hit the water for a sunset paddle 8-10 pm.

Event details:

Enjoy an evening dedicated to lake appreciation, education, and recreation. 

There will be Kayak and SUP races, with proceeds going to Pennsylvania Lake Management Society.

The General Event and Sunset Community Paddle is FREE and open to the public.  If you need to rent a paddle board or want to participate in the race please see link above. 

Read below to learn more about the hosts and their planned activities. 

Visit PALMS's table to learn about Harmful Algal Blooms and how to keep you and your furry friends safe. While there, PALMS will also show you how to prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasives into our valued lakes with hands on activities, then you can head to the water for a chance to participate in the annual Secchi Dip-In!

Blue Marsh Lake Staff will be on hand to talk about water safety and Blue Marsh Lake's watershed

Aqua Om Paddle will have paddleboard rentals for those who book online in advance. Kami with Aqua Om Paddle will teach you everything you need to know to have a safe and successful paddle. Please visit the links below for booking your paddle board rental and lesson. 

Berks Nature will provide education on watersheds with watershed activities and model.

Penn State Ext. Master Watershed Stewards will have activities for children to learn about the aquatic creatures that live in our watershed and an instructional activity for adults on the new fertilizer law in PA.

Note: (This is rain or shine event.  Only if extreme weather is expected will it get moved to rain date July 11, 2025, 5-10 pm) 

 

 

 

Event Schedule: 

5-8 pm Educational Activities along the shoreline and Kayak/Paddle Board Races in the lake.  Three race distances to choose from!  0.25 mile, 1 mile, and 2 mile   

*all race registrations and rentals must be done prior to the event

8-10pm Sunset Paddle/Float.  You can bring your own kayak/canoe/paddle board to join us for the Sunset paddle/float.
