PALMS 20th Annual Pond & Lake Management Conference
March 3rd & 4th, 2010
State College, PA

The 2010 Conference Brochure and Registration form has been finalized.  You can view the latest version of the  2010 Conference brochure newsletter.

In March 2010 the PALMS 20th annual conference will be held at the Days Inn Conference Center at Penn State University in State College, PA.  Penn State has been selected again this year as our conference location as it is central to the state and offers the involvement of students and educational staff at one of Pennsylvania’s many fine universities.  With your help, the program will be as outstanding as it has been the last nineteen years. The conference format is similar to that of last year, but with a few minor improvements based on attendee review forms.  A number of highly informative and professionally useful talks are being lined up, and we’d like to hear from you!

To develop the program further,  we are seeking high quality presentations in any area of lake management, suggesting the following topics of special interest:

  • Control of specific nuisance aquatic and emergent plant species
  • Methods for plan assessment and mapping
  • Watershed management
  • Innovative lake management techniques
  • Protected species issues
  • Alum treatment
  • Herbicide treatment
  • Fisheries assessment & management
  • Control of nuisance algae
  • Lake aeration
  • Lake liming
  • Lake drawdown as a management technique
  • Case studies on lake and watershed management

This list of pond and lake workshops and conferences (normally listed above) will be updated for the 2010 calendar year when more information becomes available.
